Just wondering if you have a quick video and tips on the most efficient way to setup your walls for external and internal walls when tracing over a PDF Plan.
The tricky bit and pain in the “ass” is the lack of ability to start at a wall intersection point that is lost with the cornice hiding the intersection point of the 2 walls when a wall is already drawn.
The only way i can overcome this is to draw all walls without the cornice options on then go back through the entire model and edit the walls when finished.
I hope there is a quicker and easier method??

I’m not sure if there’s a video for this but here are some tips I can recommend that should help speed things up for you.
1) Use 2D Mode
Create scenes & select the All scene, then enable the 2D Mode Tool & those entities should be turned off which should allow you to align the walls as needed.
Tip: Use the Levels & Layers Tool & enable “draw at height” to draw the walls at different heights whilst using 2D Mode.
2) Turn Tags On/Off
The visibility of cornice, internal lining & skirting geometrry can be turned on/off in the Tags section of the Default Tray. Here are the tags (with their folder locations) you’ll need to locate for those elements, however if they’ve been edited they may appear under a different tag name &/or folder.
Cornice = 4 Roof –> 26_CORNICE/CROWN_MOULDING
Internal Lining = 2 Walls –> 26_INTERNAL_FINISHES
Skirting = 2 Walls –> Windows & Doors –> 24G_FIX_OUT_A (same tag as architraves)
3) Create A Scene For Drawing Walls
Create a scene to use for drawing walls, which would have the elements oultined in #2 above turned off. I would also recommend saving this in your SketchUp template so you don’t need to repeat it for every model.
Note: You could also use the Roof Off scene, turn off the tags mentioned in #2 & update the scene.
