okay i got a two part question here for yall hopefully yall can help me out.
1.) im trying to create a trussed roof with different pitches however i am finding it hard to do so with the trusses themselves. is this possible similar to the “edit roof pitch/add gable” tool that lets you edit individual faces of a roof to the desired pitch if they vary form others if that makes sense? if not then is there another way I can achieve this?
2.) I need to create a stem wall foundation since this house will need to be raised up but all I see is a footing tool…would I need to use the wall tool to create a stem wall and then add footings under said wall?
Trusses With Different Pitches
Currently the only way to create trusses with different pitches is to manually draw each truss & then use the BIM Tool to add the estimating info to it so it quantifies in the Takeoff, then using the copy-move feature of SketchUp to add each instance of the truss at the required spacing. Tip: Add the estimation info to the truss before copying & pasting it.
Stem Walls
The best way to create stem walls is to enable footings when drawing the walls. The steps below outline how to do this.
Open the Wall Tool.
Select your desired wall type (e.g. Solid Wall or Masonry Veneer) & specify the Wall Height & Header Height. Tip: The Header Height must be less than the Wall Height, so it’s best to make it a small value in this instance (e.g. 1mm or 1") as it’s unlikely openings will be in these walls.
Navigate to the Materials, Selections & Finishes section & select your desired materials. Note: Use the Wall Thickness field if you’re using the Solid Wall wall type.
Navigate to the Foundations/Footings section & tick the Include Footings?.
Specify the parameters & material for the footings. Tip: Use Justify Footing to adjust how the wall & footing align with each other.
Draw the walls as you normally would & you should now have some stem walls.
