Roof Tools question

Is there a way to generate roof geometry with fascia and soffit elements shown correctly as elements with depth (thickness) – instead of simple planes?

Just to add context, the attached is a detail from the tutorial demo model provided.

Hi KADO3D,

Roofing geometry can be draw with a thickness via one of the following methods.

  • Method 1: Use the :capping_flashing_tool: Capping & Flashing Tool to draw elements like fascia, capping, etc. (roofing & soffit lining would need to use Method 2).
  • Method 2: Manually draw the different elements using SketchUp tools, then apply a material to each object using the :custom_estimation_tool: Custom Estimation Tool so it estimates. Note: You can also use the :bim_tool: BIM Tool to add the estimation but the sizes & lengths will need to be entered/updated for each object instance.

Note: For either method I would recommend drawing the roof but selecting β€œnone” for the materials. This way you can use the roof geometry to trace around or create the geometry from (depenidng on the method used).
