We are a Sydney-based residential building company looking for a talented Building Designer or Senior Drafter to join our small team remotely on a freelance or contract basis.
We specialize in new home builds in the Sydney Northwest and Southwest Growth Areas (Blacktown, The Hills, Camden, Liverpool, etc.). We need someone who can hit the ground running with our specific tech stack and local regulations.
The Role: You will be taking projects from concept stage through to full Construction Documentation using SketchUp and Layout, powered by PlusSpec.
Required Technical Skills:

PlusSpec / PlusDesignBuild: You must be proficient in using PlusSpec tools (walls, roofs, estimating features) to create “smart” models, not just raw geometry.

SketchUp & Layout Mastery: Deep understanding of Stacked Viewports, Scene management, and scrapbooks in Layout for professional construction sets.

BIM Workflow: Ability to model structurally correct frames/components for accurate Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
Required Local Knowledge (NSW/Sydney):

Experience with Sydney Growth Centre LEPs and DCPs is highly preferred.

Understanding of CDC (Complying Development Certificate) requirements versus DA processes.

Familiarity with standard Sydney setbacks, zero-lot lines, and private open space requirements.
