If a material isn’t available that needs to be there I would create a material in the field where it’ll be applied on the wall & then use the Edit Tag & BOQ Category feature to adjust the info of the material so it appears correctly in the model & takeoff. The post linked below explains how to use the Edit Tag & BOQ Category feature in more detail.
If there needs to be more than one material for a field (e.g. insulation & house wrap), I would recomend creating a material that names each material, then create a recipe in the takeoff for each separate material & link each recipe to the material. This is so that the quantity, size, etc of the material can be gathered but a different cost codes, traced, prices, etc can be set for each item.
Brick Material Dropdown
This is the intended result so that the external material will contrinue down to the footing. When this happens another wall should be used on the internal side (can be a full wall or just small wall segments - for engaged piers) & also so a different material can be specified on the internal side (usually a common/cheaper or different size brick).
