I have been recreating materials and assigning more granular tags through the “Edit Tag and BOQ Category tab”.
The reason for this is to minimise the amount of items that come up in the take-off.
However, in some tools, it does not reassign and simply reverts back to the original tag assigned by Plusspec. So far, this is happening in the Floor Joist and Reinforcement Tags.
Is pluspec able to provide some feed back on this?

There are some tools that overwrite this info which is mainly so that the materials appear in the correct areas in the takeoff (for specific pages).
In this instance, the Floor Joist Tool would be overwriting the this info for framing members so the items will appear in the Adv. Framing page of the takeoff. Note: This is true for most framing materials but also so the tag of the framing geometry is correct for it’s application since the same materials are used in walls, floors, roofs, etc. & need to be differentiated in the model.
I’m not sure about the reinforcement tags but I’ve passed it onto the development team to look into further. Are there any other areas you’ve noticed this?
If you’re wanting to adjust how the information is displayed/grouped in the takeoff, inside the Takeoff Preferences dialog there are some options (outlined in image below) that allow you to do this. Are any of these options helpful to get the result you’re after?

The “Edit Tag and BOQ Category Tab” is not working for the following Frame Tags:

Is there a work around?
With 16_REINFORCEMENT the “Edit Tag and BOQ Category Tab” works in the slab tool i.e slab mesh, but not in the Footing tool i.e trench mesh.
