Consolidating Repeated Items in Purchase Orders

Hi PlusSpec team,

I’ve been using the Take-Off tool to generate my hardware purchase orders, and I wanted to check whether there’s a way to consolidate repeated items.

At the moment, the Summary Page correctly shows all the items included in the recipe, which is great. However, when I generate the Purchase Order, the same hardware item appears multiple times.

For example, Tek Screw 12-14 x 20mm Galv is listed several times instead of appearing once with a combined total quantity.

Is it possible to have repeated items automatically summed and displayed as a single line item with the total quantity on the Purchase Order?

I’ve attached a screenshot showing how the same item is currently repeated multiple times in the Purchase Order view.

Thanks in advance for your help — just keen to understand if this is possible or if there’s a recommended workflow to achieve this.

Hmm I’ve not seen that. I’ll take ax look when i get back into the office. @Grant are you getting this? If so can you slide it into the next release?

Hi team,

Just checking back in on this request. Is consolidating repeated Take-Off items into a single Purchase Order line item currently supported, planned, or not possible at this time?

Knowing this will help us adjust our workflow accordingly.

Hi Alejandro,

Any items that have the exact same info should automatically be grouped together, so I’m not sure why it’s not for you. Can you please send the folowing info to support@plusspec.com so I can look into it further & see where/what the issue may be?

  • The takeoff template you’re using. To do this, go to Manage Template, select the template (i.e. “jonah”) & clicking Export.
  • The SketchUp model you’re using.
