Hi Drew I agree. I have come across this before. I think adding a wall end function is achievable, this may also alleviate the mitred corner when having two different wall heights.
In the short term as a work around, select view hidden geometry & unhide where required. Note for other users this will only happen when the wall is behind the section cut a section cut will automatically create a line on a cut wall.
There is a reason for this as Splitting a wall would add vertical lines on elevations.
