Timber and LVL Beams drawing at max height 90mm

Coming up with a bit of a bug on my end.

Im trying to make some beams using the beam tool but, when it renders purple when drawing the length they remain the correct size and shape, but when i click enter to confirm it the height changes to 90mm no matter the size of the beam. The width remains correct.

It seems to just be on one file. whats my best way to rectify this??

@PGKeeghan welcome back, long time no speak.
I have seen it, yet only when I have another beam selected when I open the beam tool.
I’m not getting this in my version. Can you open the ruby console and see if it gives an error code?
Beam tool PlusSpec extension for Sketchup 25 estimating and structural steel or wood design

No Error Code in the ruby console. I know what you’re talking about regarding it changing when you have another beam selected. That what I thought the issue was at first so I carefully check I didn’t have anything else selected.

Ive reinstalled/updated the plugin, and repaired the sketchup install.

I’ve Just tried the ones below the 140x35 and 130x36 are both 90mm height but all the others in that picture are as they should be.

Also as a further note its just in that particular file, i have changed to completely different file and its drawing correctly.

That’s strange. Is it a standard PlusSpec material or a created material? @Grant can you test those sizes in your machine?

Just standard Plusspec sizes. It reminds me of another bug I had with the cabinetry bodies and kickers disappearing (but the doors remaining. Same thing it was restricted to just that one file but was drawing ok on all other files.

Does each file have its own separate “Cache”? (Something that could be reset to default?)

Hi guys,

I’ve tried replicating the issue on my end but it’s all working as expected.

I did notice that the geometry of I-beam in the screenshot (shown below) wasn’t correct (i.e. parts not aligning) so maybe there’s something in that model causing some issues.

Until we can replicate the issue or find what’s causing it, all could suggest is to try the following & see if you get any improvement.

  1. Sync you materials using the :sync_tool: Sync Tool.
  2. Restore factory default by going to Extensions → PlusSpec → Restore Factory Default & selecting OK then Yes.

Hmm that’s strange, can you share your materials with me? I’ll do some testing.
