New to PS – Framing layer transparency issue

Hi all. New here. I’m just getting started learning the tools and am running into a few how-to’s that are not immediately evident to me.

Currently, any wall I create appears as a tranparent solid. It impacts only the Framing layer (including battens) while everything else in the wall is appearing as it should.

Any help how to rectify this would be appreciated - including, id PlusSpec (Freedom Plan) appropriate if I want to see the framing studs etc. in the wall?

Hi KADO3D & welcome!

The transparent wall skin is an intended result but it won’t be visible when an internal lining skin is present (this tag is turned off by default so walls can be be aligned correctly). However, if you’d like to change this it can be done via the following options:

  • Option 1: Disable transparency for the acive style (located in Default Tray > Style under the Edit tab & Face Settings section). Note: This can be saved as a SketchUp template so it can be retained for future models, otherwise it’ll need to be done for each model.

  • Option 2: Change the opacity value of the material applied to the skin to be 100 (located in Default Tray > Materials under the Edit tab) . Note: This will need to be done for each model.

Wall framing is currently only available for the PlusArchitect & PlusDesignBuild versions (you’re using Pro). If you’d like to find out more about these products & upgrade to get acces to more features, I’ve added links to each of them below.
